A Review of the Human Experience

Life masks as serene

and presents as pristine,

despite it being so clearly obscene

and though it’s essence does beam

through a dirt-covered sheen,

we hopefully lean

towards figuring what it could mean,

but what purpose can we possibly glean

from something so temptingly mean,

why are we so persistently keen,

for an endless show of routine,

designed to demean,

an existence unseen,

by an apathetic god (attempt 19),

are we not only a human machine,

powered by relentless caffeine,

self-displayed to the world through a godforsaken screen,

creating torment unseen,

equally plagued by the face of the Queen,

and addicted to all that we cannot wean,

moreover our house once green,

is now dirty and rotten and forever unclean,

so bring forth my guillotine,

and hold the vaccine,

i wish to cross that final ravine,

and finally

die.
